After the school we went home and packed because we were off to EL VALLE for the weekend! It’s nice because we work very hard during the week but the weekends are the times where we finally get to have fun! We had about a 3 hour bus ride up to the mountains. The drive was scary but beautiful! I took a lot of pictures of the scenery. This was the area where I fell in love with Panama! We got to our hotel and got the keys to our rooms. The rooms were pretty basic but definitely nice because I finally had a hot shower 
The top floor was all hammocks and there was WIFI up there so we could go on the internet and stuff. That night we went out to dinner at a place called Bruschettas and it was amazing. That night we got an early night because we had a busy day the next day.

June 23-
We woke up at about 8AM which was sleeping in for us! We put on our outdoors clothes and headed down to have breakfast in a nearby cafe. It was good and I was able to have ham, eggs, and fried dough there! After breakfast we headed out to the zip lining area. It was $53 and we got to go on 4 lines which were beautiful. We had to have about a 30 minute hike up and that was pretty intense but well worth it! On one of the zip lines they stopped you in the middle and you got to hang over a waterfall…it was beautiful! I didn’t take my camera which was a bummer but I took mental images After that we got to cool off in “natural pools” that were cold but very refreshing. We got to go back up to the waterfall we hung over and took pictures of it. After that we walked over to the area where they have natural hot springs. The walk there was absolutely beautiful and we got to really take in the nature of the area. The hot springs was only $3 and you got a free facial lol. The facial was a solution of minerals that was from volcanic rock… or at least thats what I understood with the language barrier haha! After we washed our faces off we could soak in the hot springs. They were amazing and it was nice because we missed hot water so much. After that we walked back to the hotel because everything there closes at around 5 and because of the mountains it gets darker quicker. When we got to the hotel our bus driver, “Ray” said he would take us to the zoo. The zoo was also $4 but it was sad and a bit disappointing. The animals looked very sick and they didn’t maintain their environments very well at all. There were even some dead animals in the cages 
It is definitely obvious that they don’t have animal rights like we do in the US. Then we headed off to dinner again and we ate at bruschetta again because it was so good! After that we went back to the hotels and relaxed for a bit. That night we wanted to head out to the “discoteca” so we got ready and walked there because it was close by. It was supposed to be a bar/club but it ended up being dark in there with just 3 picnic tables of people sitting around! Obviously we walked in and walked right back out because it creeped us out so bad. We got food from a food stand that night which was actually pretty good

June 24
This day we woke up around 7am so we could see more of the town before we had to leave. We had breakfast at a place similar to the one on Saturday and I had the same dish at this place. After breakfast we went horseback riding which was pretty cool! They don’t take care of the horses as well as we do in the US but it was still fun! We headed to the market after that and I was able to buy some pretty cool souvenirs. As a rule the souvenirs here are pretty random which is a bit disappointing After that we had lunch at the same place we had breakfast and I had a grilled ham & cheese… I am so ready for American food again because I don’t like the food here lol. Then we hopped on the buses and headed back to Chitre! We were able to make pizza that night and it actually turned out pretty good. We went to bed early because we had clinicnals early the next day as usual.

Im getting a little lazy with the blog and with all the pictures and explanations but I will be putting all the pictures up on Facebook and they will actually be in order lol. Sorry! Thanks for reading :)
